The 2007 translucentFILM Awards
4.
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
Dir. Paul Greengrass

What makes THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM a great film, and the only sequel on the list, is that creates new areas for action films to go in. Without having to rely on big set pieces, or massive explosions to draw the audiences attention. Instead ULTIMATUM uses an incredibly deep story, and character, to drive the film forward.
3.
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN
Dirs. Ethan Coen; Joel Coen

The Film of 2007 that is most likely to win best picture ranks in at number 3 on the list, only the reason the I had more fun watching the top two. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is an amazing film, one I can't even begin to describe. The only thing I can say is that after the credits rolled, I knew that this film will now be mentioned along side CITIZEN KANE and THE GODFATHER.
2.
SUPERBAD
Dir. Greg Mottola

Certainly a surprise to myself that I put it so high on the list, but I can't deny that SUPERBAD is ridiculously funny. Not only is it the best "teen comedy" I've seen since I became an actual "teen" (6 years ago). The single moment in SUPERBAD when I knew that is was comic gold, was seeing that little girl scream at a drawing of a penis. Can it get funnier? Not without it being very awkward.
